Background

The National Constitution Center, a leading history and education institution, brings the U.S. Constitution to life for the whole family through multimedia exhibitions, live performances, timely public programs and dynamic educational resources. As America’s first and only nonpartisan, nonprofit institution devoted to the Constitution, the NCC  illuminates constitutional ideals and inspires acts of citizenship, so that “We the People” may better secure the blessings for liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

What We Do

Each year, Progressive Business Publications, through the Progressive Business Publications Charitable Trust and the Satell Family Foundation, sponsors the annual Naturalization Ceremony on Constitution Day, September 17th, for about 90 new citizens at the National Constitution Center.

Progressive Business Publications also sponsored the first book published by the Constitution Center.  The American National Tree is based on the center’s most popular exhibit.  The book includes a moving foreword, written by our CEO, Ed Satell, which is largely based on his own experiences as a descendant of immigrants.

At the Naturalization Ceremony, Ed Satell speaks from the heart to these new Americans, welcoming them as citizens.  He personally presents each with a copy of The American National Tree as a meaningful keepsake of this moving celebration.

“Ed Satell’s one of the great civic matchmakers of our time – between needs and resources, good causes and smart people, between problems and solutions.   And what’s especially great about Ed is that he gives his all — not just of financial support, but also of his incredibly sharp mind and his passionate heart.”
